Where Art Meets Identity in Wearable Form
Bangkok, July 2025 — When fine jewelry becomes more than adornment, it speaks. It tells a story, sparks a conversation, and mirrors the complexities of the human condition. That’s exactly what the Shadow Man Collection by Matara Studio and Anna Chekh sets out to do—blending contemporary philosophy, identity, and craftsmanship into wearable art.
After a buzzworthy pre-launch at Art Nights DIFC in Dubai, the full collection has made its official debut in Thailand, exclusively at Matara Boutique, Gaysorn Village. This collaboration bridges the worlds of Thai luxury design and international contemporary art, bringing together Matara Studio, known for redefining modern pearl jewelry, and Anna Chekh, the Ukrainian-born multidisciplinary artist now based in Hua Hin, Thailand.

Meet the Makers: Matara Studio x Anna Chekh
Founded in Bangkok, Matara Studio has become one of Thailand’s most internationally recognized jewelry houses, known for its sophisticated take on pearls. Co-founded by Nuntiya Chintanadilok, Ploy Bhinsaeng, and Napasorn Chutarattanakul, Matara has expanded its reach from local ateliers to global showcases. Their designs merge elegance with individuality—offering timeless materials like pearls in bold, modern settings for a new generation of collectors.
Their collaborator, Anna Chekh, is a Ukrainian-born artist celebrated for her evocative and philosophical approach to visual storytelling. Her signature motif, the Shadow Man, is a faceless figure that explores the layers of identity, anonymity, and inner truth. Chekh’s work has been exhibited across Europe, the Middle East, and America. Now living in Hua Hin, Thailand, she continues to evolve her multidisciplinary practice—blending sculpture, painting, and fashion into meaningful, human-centered narratives.
A Collection Rooted in Story and Symbolism
At the heart of the collection is Chekh’s iconic figure—the Shadow Man, a symbolic silhouette representing the masks we wear and the emotions we keep hidden. Interpreted through Matara’s refined pearl craftsmanship, each design transforms into a sculptural object steeped in metaphor and memory.

Key pieces and themes include:
- Connection – A pearl-studded collar inspired by moments of emotional resonance and exchange.
- Society – A ring and pendant that navigate the tension between self and society.
- Family – Earrings and a ring celebrating bonds of love and support.
- Generations – A brooch that speaks to heritage, passage, and wisdom passed on.
- Legacy – A striking bracelet that honors personal truth and the light we leave behind.
Expanding beyond adornment, the collaboration also includes a limited-edition series of art objects—miniature Shadow Man sculptures in pearl-toned finishes that bridge the line between jewelry and conceptual art.

Whether you collect art, jewelry, or stories, this is where all three meet.
