The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok Opens Reservations

Historic riverside landmark welcomes guests from 20 December with luxury stays along the Chao Phraya River

Reservations are now open for The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok, one of Bangkok’s most anticipated luxury hotel openings, with its first guests set to arrive from 20 December 2026. Nestled along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in the city’s historic Bang Rak district, the new riverside retreat brings new life to Thailand’s iconic Custom House, blending heritage architecture with contemporary luxury.

Originally built in 1888 during the reign of King Rama V, the historic Custom House once served as Thailand’s gateway to international trade. After a meticulous restoration, the landmark is entering a new chapter as the centrepiece of The Langham’s newest destination in Southeast Asia.

Managed by Langham Hospitality Group, the hotel features 75 luxury accommodations, including 60 guestrooms and 15 suites, designed as a peaceful urban sanctuary overlooking the river, landscaped courtyards and Bangkok’s skyline.

Rather than recreating the original complex, the design embraces a dialogue between old and new. Renowned Thai architect Smith Obayawat, Founder and Principal of OBA, envisioned a contemporary curved structure that mirrors the movement of the Chao Phraya River while paying tribute to the neighbouring heritage building. The concept describes the historic Custom House as the “grandfather” and the new hotel as the “grandson”—two generations connected through architecture.

Inside, guestrooms combine residential elegance with refined craftsmanship. Natural materials, soft lighting and subtle Siamese influences create a warm atmosphere, while bespoke furnishings and carefully curated details reflect Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. Sculptural bathtubs finished in brushed metal draw inspiration from royal coinage and gilded craftsmanship during the reign of King Rama V, while geometric motifs echo the rhombus patterns found in traditional Thai temples and architecture.

The design narrative continues throughout the suites, where elevated detailing reflects the grandeur once associated with Thai nobility, complemented by The Langham’s signature hospitality and modern comforts.

Wellness is another highlight of the property. Guests will have access to Chuan Spa, The Langham’s award-winning wellness concept, alongside a state-of-the-art fitness centre featuring Technogym’s luxury Sandstone collection, marking the first installation of its kind in Asia.

One of the hotel’s most distinctive features is its commitment to preserving history. The restored Custom House and surrounding heritage buildings will become vibrant public spaces, housing a collection of future dining, lifestyle and social destinations that celebrate the building’s historic significance while creating a new riverside gathering place for both travellers and locals.

Its location also places guests within easy reach of many of Bangkok’s most popular attractions, including ICONSIAM, Asiatique The Riverfront, Yaowarat (Chinatown) and the creative neighbourhood of Charoen Krung. Bespoke experiences such as private river cruises and chauffeur-driven Bentley transfers further elevate the luxury stay.

To mark its debut, The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok has introduced The Grand Arrival, an exclusive opening package available for stays between 20 December 2026 and 31 March 2027.

The three-night experience starts from THB 131,888++ for a Classic Room and THB 248,888++ for a Classic Suite, and includes a curated selection of signature experiences such as The Langham Afternoon Tea, a chef-led dining experience, a Chuan Spa treatment, a privately guided Heritage Journey through the restored Custom House and private airport limousine transfers.

Guests booking the Suite Collection will also receive exclusive privileges, including private Bentley airport transfers and The Key to Bangkok, the hotel’s signature luxury experience designed exclusively for suite guests.

Reservations are now available for stays through 31 March 2027, offering travellers the opportunity to experience one of Bangkok’s most remarkable luxury hotel openings, where timeless heritage meets contemporary hospitality on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
