Thailand–Laos 75th Anniversary Art Exhibition

Celebrating 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations Through Cross-Border Art

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Laos, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane proudly presents Traversing the Mekong — a series of cross-border art exhibitions that celebrate creativity, connection, and cultural heritage.

Running from 9–17 July 2025, these special exhibitions unite 30 Thai artists and 30 Lao artists in a remarkable collaboration that transcends national boundaries. Curated jointly by art communities from both nations, this project showcases over 70 original artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces — each telling a profound story of friendship, shared history, and mutual respect.

The exhibitions will take place simultaneously at four major art venues across Vientiane:

         •        The Gallery, National Institute of Fine Arts

         •        Saylom Art Studio

         •        Water Colour House

         •        I;cat Gallery

This unprecedented creative initiative reflects the enduring bond between Thailand and Laos through the universal language of art. Every brushstroke and sculpted form becomes a testament to 75 years of diplomatic friendship and cultural exchange between the two nations.

After the showcase in Vientiane, the full exhibition will travel across the Mekong to Udon Thani, Thailand, offering even more audiences the chance to engage with this meaningful artistic journey.

Traversing the Mekong is more than an art exhibition — it’s a symbolic bridge between two nations, a celebration of unity through visual storytelling, and a powerful reminder that when countries communicate through art, the message resonates far beyond borders.

Celebrate 75 years of Thailand–Laos diplomatic relations through the power of art.
