IHG expands Garner brand to Southeast Asia

Garner Hotel Pattaya Central to open this year

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, is set to launch its rapidly growing Garner hotel brand in Southeast Asia. The debut property, Garner Hotel Pattaya Central, will open this year in partnership with Nova Park Company Limited, marking IHG’s fourth hotel in Pattaya and further strengthening its leadership in Thailand’s mainstream hotel segment.

Garner Brand Arrives in Thailand

Launched in 2023, Garner is IHG’s midscale conversion brand designed for guests who value authentic connections and great basics at the right price. Since its debut, Garner has expanded to 51 open hotels across the US, Japan, and Germany, with 87 more in the pipeline. The opening of Garner Hotel Pattaya Central is a significant milestone as the brand enters Southeast Asia for the first time.

Located in the heart of Pattaya, just 90 minutes from Bangkok, the hotel will feature 153 modern rooms and suites in its first phase. Guests will enjoy Garner’s signature touches, including comfortable beds, free Wi-Fi, bean-to-cup coffee, snacks at the Garner Shop, and welcoming residential-style service.

Strengthening IHG’s Market Leadership

According to Vivek Bhalla, Managing Director, Southeast Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts:

“We’re delighted to introduce Garner to Southeast Asia with Garner Hotel Pattaya Central. Thailand has always been a key market for launching IHG brands in the region. This partnership strengthens our mainstream portfolio, alongside the success of Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, while extending our collaboration with Nova Park Company Limited.”

With three-quarters of IHG’s global system size in the mainstream segment, Garner offers owners attractive conversion opportunities and guests quality midscale stays. In the first half of 2025, conversions accounted for 57% of IHG’s global room openings and nearly a quarter in Southeast Asia, demonstrating growing demand for flexible and fast-to-market options.

A New Chapter for Pattaya Hospitality

Eli Fineman, Director, Nova Group, emphasized Pattaya’s importance as both a tourism hotspot and a gateway to Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor:

“The launch of Garner Hotel Pattaya Central will enrich the city’s hospitality offerings. By working with IHG, we’re able to provide travelers with a distinctive midscale hotel that combines affordability, comfort, and quality.”

The hotel will also feature an all-day dining restaurant, swimming pool, fitness center, and DIY laundry, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

Expanding IHG’s Presence in Thailand

Garner Hotel Pattaya Central will become IHG’s fourth property in Pattaya, joining InterContinental Pattaya Resort, Holiday Inn Pattaya, and Holiday Inn Express Pattaya Central. Across Thailand, IHG now operates 40 open hotels with 41 more in the pipeline, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country’s thriving tourism industry.
