Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has officially appointed Thaddaeus Weiss as General Manager, marking a significant leadership milestone for one of Bangkok’s most prestigious luxury hotels. In his new role, Weiss will oversee both the hotel operations and The Residences at Sindhorn Kempinski, reinforcing a unified vision for service excellence and long-term growth.

A familiar and well-respected figure within the property, Weiss previously served as Hotel Manager at Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok from 2021 to 2024. He was also part of the pre-opening team, having joined in February 2020, and played a key role in shaping the hotel’s early positioning in Bangkok’s competitive luxury hospitality market. During this period, he successfully guided the team through both pre-opening and post-opening phases, contributing to strong STR performance and high guest satisfaction rankings.

His return as General Manager represents a natural progression in leadership and reflects the brand’s commitment to continuity and stability. With a deep understanding of the property, team culture, and guest expectations, Weiss is well positioned to lead the hotel into its next phase of development.
A German national, Weiss brings more than 17 years of experience with Kempinski Hotels, having joined the group in 2008. His international career spans multiple regions including Europe, Africa, China, and Southeast Asia, giving him a broad perspective on global hospitality trends and operational excellence. His professional background in Food & Beverage and Sales has shaped a leadership style grounded in strong operational discipline, commercial insight, and brand alignment.
Earlier in his career, Weiss held the position of Senior Regional Operations Manager for Kempinski and NUO Hotels in Asia. In this role, he supported operational performance across the region, ensured brand standards, and contributed to key pre-opening projects and technical service initiatives.

Most recently, Weiss served as Hotel Manager at The Apurva Kempinski Bali, a role he assumed in April 2024. There, he oversaw multiple operational divisions and delivered measurable improvements in service quality, revenue performance, and engineering operations—further strengthening the property’s reputation for excellence.
Commenting on his appointment, Weiss shared that returning to Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is both a privilege and a meaningful continuation of a journey he began with the team during the hotel’s formative years. He emphasized his pride in the team’s achievements and his commitment to building on the strong foundation already in place, while continuing to deliver thoughtful and memorable experiences for both guests and residents.

Weiss holds an Executive Master of International Business from the Swiss Hotel Management School and is fluent in English and German.
His appointment highlights Sindhorn Kempinski’s ongoing focus on leadership excellence, operational consistency, and strategic growth.
